What is Shockwave therapy?

  • Extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) is a non invasive form of treatment that can be used to treat a wide variety of painful conditions.

  • ESWT works by delivering high energy soundwaves into the tissue through the skin via a hand held probe.

  • Research has shown that these shockwaves delivered into injured tissue can provide pain relief as well as stimulating increased blood flow and stem cell activity which can encourage a healing response in many tissues
